We are looking for a driven, proactive Purchaser / Procurement Specialist to join our team. This role is about much more than placing orders. We are looking for someone who takes ownership of the purchasing process, builds strong vendor relationships, negotiates the best possible pricing and terms, and is constantly looking for ways to improve how we purchase and support our business.
Our commitment to Platinum Customer Service extends beyond our external customers. The Purchasing team plays an important role in supporting our internal teams by ensuring they have the products, information, pricing, delivery details, and updates they need to effectively serve our customers.
The successful candidate will understand that good purchasing directly impacts the customer experience. When our internal teams have accurate information and timely updates, they are better equipped to provide exceptional service to our external customers.
Most importantly, we are looking for someone who is driven to get the best deal, not simply the lowest price, but the best overall value when considering price, quality, availability, delivery, service and long-term vendor relationships.
Key Responsibilities
- Source products, services, technology, tools, and other business requirements.
- Negotiate the best possible pricing, terms, freight, and delivery.
- Research suppliers and compare options to ensure we are getting the best overall value.
- Build and maintain strong vendor relationships while holding suppliers accountable.
- Monitor orders, lead times, pricing, and delivery to ensure commitments are met.
- Keep Sales, Customer Care, Operations, and other internal teams informed of pricing, availability, delays, and changes.
- Provide Platinum Customer Service to our internal teams so they can confidently support our external customers.
- Proactively communicate issues and provide solutions or alternatives when challenges arise.
- Review existing purchasing processes and recommend improvements.
- Look for opportunities to reduce costs, improve efficiency, and introduce better suppliers, products, or technology.
